A wealth of styling knowledge and experience

Victoria Baker has been a hair and makeup artist for over 18 years.  Having originally completed her fashion, hair and makeup diploma in 2001, followed by a further year of advanced studies, she continues to attend courses to keep her skills topped up with the latest trends and techniques.  Added to her formal training, she has also worked for well know make-up brands, including Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown and Mac, which has broadened her experience and product knowledge.

Throughout her career as a hair and makeup artist she has travelled the country working for Sky TV, BAFTA celebrities and has had her work covered in the press including OK Magazine.

Victoria likes to pride herself on a modern romantic and relaxed style.

Like many young girls, Victoria’s fascination with the styling industry goes back long before she qualified. “As a young girl, I’d sit and watch my mother make herself up. I innocently witnessed how happy it made her feel and I could literally see her transform into this confident sassy woman who sparkled.

This is what started my journey as a hair and makeup artist – because I want everyone to feel what I could see she felt.“

A two-way approach

Believing it is important to give her clients some control in the process, Victoria always values and welcomes their opinions and ideas.  Using her personable approach, she’ll take the time to discuss each client’s thoughts to fully understand what they are aiming to achieve and will tactfully challenge those ideas to make sure she creates the best version of themself, without changing their persona.

For Victoria, it’s important that people don’t suddenly become a different person, which can ultimately diminish confidence, but rather she aims for a polished and glowing version of themself.  “For example, if you want to make an impact on a special occasion with a dramatic red lipstick, but have never worn it before, then there’s a chance people won’t recognise the real you and that could make you feel self-conscious. So, I’ll always ask my clients to try out wearing a bold lipstick in advance of the big day to see how they get on so they feel comfortable and confident when they are styled”.

 Where?

Based in Hampton Middlesex, Victoria will travel to London, Brighton or where ever else her clients need her. She also has a local clientele from the Hampton, Twickenham and Richmond area who have come to trust her for styling for special occasions.
